ตัวเล็กจนต้องส่งกล้องกันเลย เจ้าตัวเล็กนี้คือไรน้ำนางฟ้า ( Fairy Shrimps ) เป็นสัตว์น้ำจำพวกกุ้งที่อาศัยอยู่ในแหล่งน้ำจืด ซึ่งพบในแหล่งน้ำธรรมชาติมานานแล้ว โดยเฉพาะในภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ ชาวบ้านเรียกสัตว์ชนิดนี้ว่า “ตัวเหนี่ยว” หรือ “แมงอ่อนช้อย” หรือ “แมงหางแดง” หรือ “แมงแงว” หรือ “แมงน้ำฝน” โดยสามารถนำไรน้ำนางฟ้ามาประกอบอาหารได้ แต่ก็รู้จักกันอยู่ในวงจำกัด เนื่องจากไรน้ำนางฟ้ามีวงชีวิตที่ไม่ต่อเนื่องตลอดทั้งปี และยังเป็นอาหารที่สัตว์น้ำต่างๆชอบกินรวมทั้งมนุษย์ เรามักจะเรียกไรชนิดนี้ ว่า “ อาร์ทีเมียน้ำจืด ” ซึ่งเป็นอาหารโปรดของสัตว์น้ำตัวเล็ก
