ชอบอาศัยอยู่ในโพรงตามพื้นทะเล โดยจะใช้หางในการขุดโพรง มักจะโผล่ส่วนหัวขึ้นมาในขณะที่ยังคงซ่อนตัวในโพรง น้องกินแพลงตอลเป็นอาหาร ส่วนมากจะเจอแถบอินโดแปซิฟิก

Garden eels use their tails to dig their burrows and rarely leave. These small eels live in burrows on the sea floor and get their name from their practice of poking their heads from their burrows while most of their bodies remain hidden
